Learn how to identify trees with Berkshire Environmental Action Team (BEAT) on a leisurely 1-mile walk through an upland forest that meanders along the Housatonic River. Participants will learn key characteristics of common trees found in western Massachusetts and get tips to help identify them.
The walk will take place on Saturday, August 13, at 9:30 AM, lasting approximately 1.5 hours. They’ll meet at the trailhead of Lower Bowker’s Woods, a Laurel Hill Association property located near Stockbridge, MA. The trail is an easy walk with uneven terrain in some areas; it also intersects railroad tracks.
This event is FREE and open to the public. Anybody is welcome to come along, but the number of participants is limited. If you would like to join or want more details, email [email protected] or call 413-464-9402.
