Fiona’s background is in ballet, so her movement is grounded in principles of line and technical precision. This highly talented group of Juilliard School musicians challenge the so-called “concert hall etiquette” as they collaborate to inspire a new perspective around unconventional chamber music. Audiences in attendance of live classical music often appear to be a sea of statues. Classical music can feel inaccessible to people who have not studied it and the convention of a seemingly required stillness and need to almost meditate in order to truly “understand” the music can exacerbate the disconnect. Liz Butler and Ben Jardine have been teaching improv at The Foundry every Monday night since June. And this is the culmination of that teaching, all rolled into one Fun Night. Join us as we celebrate these spectacular students and applaud them for all that they've learned and achieved thus far in their improv journeys.
